Prosciutto-Wrapped Dates with Walnuts & Goat Cheese
When it comes to hosting a party, the hardest part is planning a menu you can prepare even if your time is limited. The key to keeping your cool is to do as much as you can ahead of time — for us, this means choosing easy, make-ahead holiday appetizers. With that in mind, these Prosciutto-Wrapped Dates with walnuts and goat cheese can be made well before the party starts and heated just before serving.

Test Kitchen Tip
Make the dates up to a day ahead. Cover them with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Instructions
Combine goat cheese, walnuts, parsley, zest, and shallots for the filling; season with salt and pepper.
Fill dates using a #100 scoop (heaping 1 tsp.) measure. Wrap dates with halved prosciutto slices and secure with toothpicks; transfer to a baking sheet, cover with plastic wrap, and chill 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
Preheat oven to 375°.
Bake dates until cheese is bubbly and prosciutto is crisp, 15 minutes.
To easily fill the dates and ensure there’s enough filling, use a #100 scoop measure.
Wrap the dates with a halved slice of prosciutto. This helps enclose the filling and adds savory, salty flavor.
